Safeguarding
The Brecks Indoor Bowling Club (BIBC) has considered very carefully its responsibilities to children, young people and vulnerable adults participating in bowls at our premises and within our club. |
We have produced a Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and underpinning procedures, in order to set out the standards we wish to uphold in providing activities for children, young people and vulnerable adults, thereby safeguarding all in our care. |
Our club affiliates to the National Governing Body and the BIBC recognises the policies of their Governing Body, as set in out in the “Safeguarding Bowls Guidelines”. |
The BIBC acknowledges its duty of care to safeguard all children, young people and vulnerable adults involved in bowls within the club. All participants have a right to protection and to have their particular needs taken into account. |
We will therefore endeavour to ensure the safety and protection of everyone involved with the club through the Child Protection guidelines adopted by the Management Committee of our club. It is the responsibility of all adults within the club to assist the management committee in this endeavour. |
The Club's Safeguarding policies are reviewed and updated regularly. These policies are displayed on the relevant Safeguarding notice board.
All club coaches are registered with the Norfolk Bowls Coaching Association. As required by our Management Committee, each coach is in receipt of the Disclosure and Barring Service clearance certificate.
The BIBC adopts the requirements of the "General Data Protection Guidelines (May 2018)" when following procedures for the application of Disclosure & Barring clearance certificates.
